BIO

Janelle Schneider is a Figurative artist with an interest in inter-connectedness. Mainly self-taught, she has been painting using oils and acrylics most of her life. She received a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and has maintained a consistent studio practice concurrently with her career as a digital artist for over 16 years; first in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the more recently here in the Pacific Northwest.

Her creative journey has been an exploration of relationship and connection in various forms. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, perception and connection, to create thought-provoking emotionally resonant pieces in acrylic on canvas or wood that inspires dialogue and connection.

Janelle’s work has shown in the Pacific Northwest, San Francisco Bay and L.A. areas and is held in private collections worldwide.

science tarot

A portfolio of my paintings for the Suit of Wands in the Science Tarot Project, and images from our launch party at the California Academy of Sciences.

One through ten card designs were painted using Photoshop, and the face cards were painted using acrylic mixed media on 24x36 inch canvases. For the launch party display I bound the four paintings together at the corners, and displayed on a raised central pedestal. There were also two stations with glowing light cube stands on which rested view master viewers containing the card art .
